SF Sketchfest presents a pairing from a dozen hand-picked stand-up comedians on the rise: names you might not know now, but will be hearing a lot from soon.
Solomon Georgio burst out of the Seattle comedy scene with his own brand of indignant irreverence. He flawlessly intertwines biting social commentary with stories of his life as an openly gay African immigrant. He is a finalist of NBC’s "Stand Up for Diversity," a regular performer at Bumbershoot and Bridgetown Comedy Festivals, had his TV debut on "Conan," and appeared on "Last Call with Carson Daly." He also hosted several episodes of the recent Lance Bangs series for Vice, "Flophouse."
Hampton is a comedian and is also a human being filled with blood and guts. He started comedy in DC and later moved to LA where he’s currently working as a writer and performer. He’s written and produced for “Ridiculousness” on MTV, “The Eric Andre Show,” “Loiter Squad,” “The Meltdown,” and “Mystery Science Theater 3000.” Hampton has performed his stand up on “Conan,” Comedy Central, MTV, and for multiple festivals. Currently he is the voice of Crow T. Robot on “Mystery Science Theater 3000,” coming soon to Netflix.

The Comedy Nest is the new show based on the Comedy Womb (founded by Danielle K.L. Gregoire in April 2013). It is a female focused but not female exclusive weekly comedy open mic with special guest spots and a headliner in The Grotto, at the Rendezvous, 2322 2nd Ave.
Q: What is the Magic Hat
A: Five brilliant humans(?) are invited to share. These humans range from talented newcomers showcasing their best in a ten minute spot to veteran performers stretching their legs with something wonderful. Performers include storytellers, stand up comics, sketch performers, characters and more. There are also five 5 minute lottery spots that are drawn through out the show.
Q: Is it an open mic?
A: Not at all. It is a friendship machine that will make the world a better place. The lottery spots are there to create unexpected wonderfulness. Hopefully people will put their names in the hat because they have something special to share.

Show Bio: We make comics toke up and do stand up.
Show history: Patrick, Zach, and Joe love getting high and started this show so they had an excuse to get high with their comedian friends before the show. They've been doing it for one year in Los Angeles at The Westside Comedy Theater in Santa Monica. They've had some of the biggest names in LA comedy on their show. This is the first month they've taken it on the road. In addition to these shows, they also performed in San Diego.
